Grown & Made in Europe
The 100% hemp shirt is produced using traditional methods in Romania, without the use of chemicals.
Only the long fibres are used and not cottonized hemp,
as it is common in China.
The hemp is also grown organically,
but without an organic label, as it is too expensive for the farmers there. The dye for the black hemp shirt is organically produced
and has a GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification.
Everything vibrates...
All fabrics have a vibrating frequency,
which is usually overlooked but can be crucial for well-being and health.
A study led to the following results.
Here is an overview (the higher, the better):
Polyester: around 15 Hz
Cotton: around 100 Hz.
Linen: around 5000 Hz.
Hemp: around 5000 Hz.
Hemp has many similarities with linen.
But hemp has many advantages:
1) More sustainable to grow, as it improves the soil
and requires less water due to its long taproot.
2) Hemp fabrics do not crease, but linen does.
3) Hemp is much stronger and lasts longer.
4) Hemp has a higher oxygen content than linen,
which is why the fabrics do not take on bad odors.
About
The founder Johannes created a hemp fashion label called BEWUSST
with his wife Tania, a fashion designer, back in 2015 and sold basics made from 100% hemp
via Etsy and his own online store in more than 35 different countries worldwide.
For both of them, the power plant hemp as a second skin took center stage
and was the driving force behind their success.
At the time some people jokingly asked us if the clothes could be smoked.
This gave rise to the symbolic running gag in this mini video series
of the first ALICE IN WUNDERWALD collection.

In 2021, it was time for him to let his own seed grow into a tree,
which is why he followed his great passion for filmmaking and ended the hemp label.
He founded his production company WUNDERWALD
and shot music videos, commercials
and his first feature film “The Black & White Game”,
for which he won several awards.
In 2024, a brilliant thought came to him that he had to merge both passions,
that of hemp clothing and filmmaking.
He first wrote a script for a the mini video series
and created together with Tania the clothing for it in the same night.
WUNDERWALD productions gave birth to ALICE IN WUNDERWALD.
WHO THE F?CK IS ALICE?
Alice is not only the protagonist of our film mini video series,
which was released in fusion with our first collection.
Alice is a synonym for a transformation from external control to self-determination.
The clothing from ALICE IN WUNDERWALD symbolizes this process like no other
and the Creator's films follow the same path!

What's the most annoying thing about clothes?
That's right: the etiquette.
It's distracting.
Our 100% hemp shirt is completely label-free.
The washing instructions and the material composition (anyway only hemp)
are on a separate card.

Should a T-shirt cost €150?
Sustainability
With our 100% Hemp T-shirt, the entire production process, from cultivation and harvesting to the production of the T-shirt, takes place in a single location, in the EU, where everyone is paid fairly. This is very efficient & environmentally friendly.
With many other suppliers of hemp clothing, the individual production steps are distributed worldwide in order to save costs, but this is very damaging to the environment and nature pays the price.
In addition, you can theoretically save a lot on laundry costs, as this shirt remains hygienic due to the high oxygen content in the pure hemp fibers, which suppresses the development of bacteria.
Quality
Most suppliers of hemp t-shirts source their hemp from China, where the fibers are broken down using chemicals. This is not the case with our T-shirt, as the fibers are produced using the traditional pulping process, which takes much longer but ensures a much higher quality and make the fabric much more robust.
However, most suppliers source their hemp from China and not from Eastern Europe, which is what makes our clothing so unique.
In Eastern Europe, the original hemp long fibers are used, which makes the clothing softer and more robust at the same time.
Durability
Our 100% Hemp T-shirt is not more expensive than T-shirts from other “cheaper” manufacturers, as our T-shirt is more robust than any other T-Shirts made of cotton and therefore lasts longer. In compare to other 100% hemp t-shirts on the market our fabric is thicker and therefore it is more durabel, but still remains very soft due to the long fibers.
Compared to other shirts from the fast fashion sector, which quickly break and have to be bought again, our 100% hemp T-shirt is a garment that you can wear for many years and is the basis for a healthy and sustainable closet.
Not "just" a T-Shirt
It also has several qualities that you won't find else-where: due to its untreated nature, it has a healing effect and bonds with your skin.
It is ideal for sports, yoga, mediation, but it can also be combined in different ways, as a dress, on jeans, over a dress or skirt, as underwear, etc...
In short: it is a favorite piece that lasts a long time. You would have had to buy several other T-shirts in the same time and you would have paid the same price, but you wouldn't get the same wearing experience.
It is therefore not unnecessary consumption
but an investment in your health,
well-being & functionality.
